Hi,
I would start with a relatively recent paper written in the course of InterPACIFIC project.

Re: F-K Analysis, can not find the time window
Hi, For FK processing, you can see the time windows only if you press in "Test" button. It is an interactive tool to look at individual FK maps calculated for each block set (a statck of several time windows as specified by block averaging options). Usual with FK, we do not look at individual time w...

I did the modification. It is available on the git repository (3.4.0-preview).

Re: Tuning parameters in inversion
Hi, The concept of iteration has been removed. Ns now represent the total number of models generated by the Neighborhood Algorithm, excluding the Ns0 models generated with a Monte-Carlo technique. So your parameters should be now: Ns0 = 100, Ns = 200000, and Nr = 50 Nw is the number of random walk b...

Re: Creating a geopsy db from command line
Hi, I discussed that topic with Giuseppe (INGV) last week. Effectively, I have to add the possibility to run geopsy-hv, geopsy-fk and geopsy-spac directly from a list of files instead of a database. I will soon add this feature in 3.4.0-preview. If you are under Linux or Mac, you can compile it from...

Re: Inversion by equal logarithmic wavelength intervals
Hi, This is the common pitfall of most of the dispersion plots you can find in the literature, even nowadays. There are so many dispersion plots with a linear scale where the curve is almost unreadable at low frequency. USE LOG scales for plotting variable quantities vs. frequency or period. They ar...

Re: f-k and phase velocity-wavelength graph in Geopsy/DINVER
Hi, For passive FK, it is possible to plot results with various formats (gphistogram). However, for MASW, this would require an additional option for the output plots. I keep your suggestion in mind. For the inversion. not simply plotting but computing the misfit in velocity-wavelength would require...

Re: About non-gui usages
No currently there is only a tutorial for geopsy-fk.
geopsy-spac and geopsy-hv are built with the same structure: -db, -group, -param and -param-example.
Best regards,
Marc

Re: About start warning
Does it start normally afterwards or do you observe problems?
it is just a warning. If there is no visible consequences, you can safely ignore it.
Best regards,
Marc

Re: Working with Mac M1 chip?
I've just released the Big Sur archive for release 3.3.6 compiled on an Intel Mac running Big Sur by Bertrand Guillier. Can you try? Up to now, I have not checked if I have to add flags during compilation to have binaries for both Intel and ARM chips. If it is still unsuccessful, you can follow this...

3.3.6 is available for Windows (and for source distribution of course - Linux and Mac).

Re: why different answers from same data using different Geopsy Dinver releases?
Hi Luigi, I'm getting a minimum misfit of 0.39 after 30000 models with 3.4.0 and 3.3.6. I just add a new run to your .dinver and run it, without changing anything. From the dinver file alone I do not have access to the misfits you obtained. With 0.39 both dispersion and ellipticity are nicely adjust...

Re: Changing the maximum (20) and minimum (0.2) frequency in the Dinver program
Hi, The frequency range in dinver is controlled only by the target curve you provide. If the target curve is from 0.5 to 50 Hz, dinver will compute the theoretical dispersion curve on the same range and will provide a misfit. You can resample or cut your curve inside dinver (see details ). Did I und...

Re: Negative rates during inversion
I fixed a bug on branch 3.4 today that made dinver running indefinitely without producing new models. That was a rather stupid mistake and the correction is now available on the git repository. You have a lot of models flagged as quarantined (or atomic for the latest release). These cells are not pr...

Re: why different answers from same data using different Geopsy Dinver releases?
Hi Luigi, It takes a little while but my answer won't be so short. Old release 2.5.0 First, I try with 2.5.0, an old one, even older than yours. Effectively the minimum misfit that I reach is around 0.8, lower than what you got with 3.3.4. But... if you look at the fit of the dispersion curve it is ...
