I would like to read the H/V peak frequency stored in the output file .hv creating by Geopsy after H/V processing.

Two H/V peak frequency (fo) are written in the file:
- fo from average (third line in header)
- fo from windows (fifth line in header)

What is the difference these frequencies?
Which one correspond to the H/V peak given on screen?

Thanks,
Sylvette

Hi Sylvette,
  • fo from average (third line in header)
This is the frequency of peak observed on the average curve (plain black line).
  • fo from windows (fifth line in header)
It is the frequency marked by gray areas. If more than one peak is set by the user the output will contain several lines like this one. This f0 is computed from statistics on the peak observed for all individual time windows. These peaks are searched only in a narrow band around the 'f0 from average'
