What exactly is f_peak?

Post by schmanse »

Hi Marc

I am leaving a question because I would like to know more precisely about the guidelines established in SESAME.

1st Question:
What does f_peak mentioned in item 4 of the Criteria for a clear H/V peak in the SESAME Guide Line mean? Does it represent the peak of each window?

2nd Question:
Also, is the interpretation of criterion 4 that f_peak, corresponding to frequency f on the HVSR curve with amplitude A ± "the standard deviation of amplitude A", should be within ±5% of the f0 obtained from Geopsy analysis results?

I would appreciate it if you could explain both questions in detail.

Best regards,
Shin

Condition 4 means that a peak must be observed also on the deviation curves (A_{H/V} * and / sigma_A). This peak must be the same as f_0 +/= 5%.
Also, is the interpretation of criterion 4 that f_peak, corresponding to frequency f on the HVSR curve with amplitude A ± "the standard deviation of amplitude A", should be within ±5% of the f0 obtained from Geopsy analysis results?
Exactly.
